Batman Museum

Batman Museum, one of the important museums of the region, has 3 exhibition halls: Paleolithic-Neolithic, Ilısu and Hasankeyf Hall. In the museum, approximately 500 works are exhibited in a wide range of history from Paleolithic Period to the Middle Ages. The Batman Museum presides over seven rescue excavations carried out in the mounds that will remain under the waters of Ilısu Dam in the provinces of Batman and Siirt. The most important artifacts found in the museum are the game stones unearthed in Başur Höyük excavation. "Dikili Taş" from Gusir Höyük, "Bronze Grave Gifts" from Başur Höyük, "God Bes" from Hasankeyf are among the important works of the museum. There is a projection room where the museum can be displayed in the exhibition. The museum also includes a rich library of books containing subjects such as archeology, culture and art history, and a laboratory where the works obtained from excavations are restored.
