Cizre Müzesi, yürütülen teknik inceleme, bakım-onarım ve güvenlik değerlendirme çalışmaları devam ettiğinden henüz hizmete açılmamıştır. Müze binasında tespit edilen yapısal sorunların giderilmesi, sergileme alanlarının yeniden düzenlenmesi ve ziyaretçi güvenliğinin en üst düzeye çıkarılması amacıyla ilgili birimlerce çalışmalar devam etmektedir. Söz konusu süreç tamamlandığında müzemiz ziyarete açılacaktır.
Cizre Müzesi was established to preserve and present the rich historical and cultural heritage of Cizre, one of the key settlements of Mesopotamia. The museum is located within the Inner Castle (İç Kale), an important part of the city’s historical fabric, which enhances its cultural and historical significance. The region has a multi-layered past extending from Assyrian and Babylonian civilizations to Roman, Islamic, and Ottoman periods. The museum’s collection includes archaeological artifacts, ethnographic items, and objects reflecting traditional local life, illustrating the cultural transformations the region has undergone throughout history. The museum aims to contribute to academic research and to transmit the cultural memory of the region to future generations.
